Savannah customer feedback

Below are some of the comments and feedback that we have received about our Savannah cats and kittens, by their new owners.

Sittingpretty Anya by Robert Jennings Of Norwich, UK

Sittingpretty Anya"We would just like to explain how pleased we are with Anya. It has taken me around three years of research to find someone in the UK who we felt would be able to provide a healthy Savannah and we couldn’t be happier with the decision to take Anya from you. She is the most well adjusted, perfectly house trained and gorgeous cat of any description we have had the good fortune to come across. She has such a lovely loving temperament without any little idiosyncracies that might have resulted in her becoming stressed in a new environment. In fact she has taken it all in her stride and is now a thoroughly loved and integrated member of the house, bringing an incredible sense of fun and lots of laughter with her antics and inquisitive nature. The help, advice and discussions we had with you made things much easier to get Anya home and settled and all the help once we had her home was greatly appreciated. As indeed was the massive pack of food, toys and information that you provided and which was completely unexpected. Those that are looking to take on the whirlwind that is a Savannah they really could not do better than to get in touch with you. Thanks again, if anyone would like to speak to me directly I’d be more than happy to explain how well things have been with our dealings with you."

Sittingpretty Helli Chopper aka Freddie by Paula Farmer Of Gloucestershire, UK

Sittingpretty Helli Chopper"We were thinking of adding to our family a Savannah for some time. Browsing online we found Rachel's lovely website and came across Chopper (now Freddie) and our hearts melted with his lovely funny face and good looks! Truly love at first sight! We contacted Rachel who answered every question we had and in turn she gained some reassurance that we were suitable for Chopper. We were unable to visit or collect him but Rachel enabled him to be safely brought to us by a nice man named Pete. Throughout Rachel has advised us and enabled fabulous support. We have four other cats; two Ragdolls and two Bengals and can honestly say Rachel's support had been second to none. Chopper arrived, fit and healthy and on a mission to melt every heart and settle in with our other furry family members. He has such character, loves cuddles and curling up on our laps, he eats well and loves the running wheel we have bought. We love seeing him grow almost daily and follow his hilarious antics he has a habit of collecting small items and hiding them. He has a lovely unique personality! Thank you Rachel"

Sittingpretty Matey by Carlie Whitaker of Ilkley, UK

Sittingpretty Matey"When looking for our recent additions we came across Rachel who from the very beginning acted in a very professional and knowledgeable manner. At first we were a little uncertain to which breed would best suit us but Rachel was more than happy to give us plenty of information and made us feel relaxed when visiting the kittens. In the end we liked both breeds as they both have their own quirky characteristics. Both Foxy (Bengal) and Rory (Savannah) settled in to their new home really quickly and both are growing up to be amazing cats. We cannot thank Rachel enough for the help and support that she gave us throughout the process and would recommend anyone looking for a feline pet to get in touch with Rachel."

Sittingpretty Prince Charming by Charlotte Bailey-Goode of Torquay, UK

Sittingpretty Prince Charming

"After a lot of research and debating on what kitten breed to add to our fur family, I was put in touch with Rachel. She sent me to her website and was incredibly helpful in choosing a kitten and telling me more about the breed. We settled on Prince!! Whilst we was waiting for him to be neutered (all arranged and sorted by Rachel) we was sent lots of photo updates on his progress and kept up to date on the courier. The day Prince arrived he was fairly grumpy, but who wouldn't be after spending 8 hours in a van and then put into a strangers house!! He wasn't too keen on the others cats and was definitely not a fan of the dogs!! However he took to me and Lewis and instantly he wouldn't leave us alone, he wanted loving and fussing. After 24 hours you could see a small change in his attitude towards the others. he wasn't so grumpy but still a little cautious. But the day after he was a completely different kitten, he was rubbing against the dogs and playing with the other cats, he had completely changed. Dealing with Rachel was so easy and she explained every detail to us. She has been so supportive and a real pleasure to have dealt with her. Prince is a remarkable boy and is an absolute stunner, everyone who see's him comments on his looks. I would definitely recommend Sittingprretty to anyone looking at Savannahs or Bengal's. If I was to ever want another myself, I wouldn't hesitate to return to Rachel."

Sittingpretty Pringle aka Merlin by Sheila Wales of Ayrshire, Scotland

Sittingpretty Pringle

"I went looking for a friend for my boisterous Bengal boy, finding Rachel Hartley of Sittingpretty Cats. I decided to purchase a Savannah kitten. The kitten I chose is now named Merlin. He came from a scrupulously clean and very well kept cattery with a full health guarantee. Rachel is knowledgable about both of her breeds of cats and offers a friendly lifetime of support and advice for your kitten. If purchasing another kitten I would certainly return here. Merlin is of a good breed standard with a superb friendly nature and temperament with quality for breed or show. I would recommend Sitting Pretty Cats without hesitation ."

Sittingpretty Tangy Tom by Kacper Kinstler of Huddersfield, UK

Sittingpretty Tangy Tom

"It is our opinion about buying experience. I have found Rachel's website while browsing for Savannah kittens and it's professional design and essential information about cats caught my attention. Having bad experience with online scammers, I instantly knew I am in the right place. Never mind her busy schedule (and mine) Rachel found some time for me and my daughter to come over and spend time with her cats and answered our questions. Our cat-Tom was hiding well during our visit but we liked him anyway. Took him few days to settle down in the new place but it was worth waiting. Rachel prepared all paper work and neutered Tom before arrival. Provided samples of food, toys and supporting information how to look after kittens in their first days. Stayed in touch answering my questions via emails and that made things much easier. All in all great experience. I highly recommend Rachel if you are looking for pedigree cat or kitten. You will not be disappointed."

Sittingpretty Myseterious Mose by Lauren Bills Of Wolverhampton, UK

Sittingpretty Mysterious Mose"We have decided to name Mysterious Mose Tj. He is growing up into amazing boy and I can't believe how big he is already. We would just like to thank you for a wonderful little kitten, He has got to be the best birthday present I could have ever had. He settled in straight away and would not leave our sides. Every morning he wakes me up by nibbling my nose or licking my face. He sleeps with me most nights.. well I try to sleep, where as he already beats me to the bed, stretched out on my pillow. He is extremely mischievous and loves climbing and scratching the walls, instead of using his scratching post. He's very cheeky. He also likes to play with things he shouldn't, such as plugs or chewing up paper. It's hard to be stern with such a cute face. He loves to stretch out on either of our laps after a long play with his new toys, that we can not resist buying. His favourite is a stick with feathers on the end, as soon as I pick it up he leaps and jumps astonishing heights to catch it. Throughout the day he has mad moments and runs around the house as fast as he can. I don't know how such a little cat can have so much energy, probably cause the rest of the day he sleeps so much. He is such a special cat and has a loving personality, we love him so much. I would like to say thank you for paperwork that helped us so much with his feeding times and what to do when he can get ill and also for the toys and food, it made it so much easier. Finally, You have done an amazing job breeding such magnificent breeds of cats. We will definitely keep you up to date and if we ever want another cat, we will not hesitate to call. Wish you all the best."

Sittingpretty Magic Trick aka Olly by Lynden Wheatley Of York, UK

Sittingpretty Magic Trick

"Firstly myself and my family would like to thanks you, from the moment we enquired to the visit to your home this is not a business. All the effort you clearly put into your cats / kittens shows in the confident little ‘Fur Balls’ that rule your house its a love affair I haven’t seen in other breeders. You and your husband made us feel welcome, even my kids relaxed in your home. When I asked to see Magic Trick – aka Olly's parents you didn’t hesitate, you answered all my questions and concerns. Out of interest I wanted to see the ‘Celebrities’ from your website yet again I was shown all including the latest arrivals, as before the time, effort you put into your cattery is breath taking. I finally met ‘Dennis The Menace’ Olly’s father, you did warn me about the ‘Head’ wash I would receive – And he didn’t disappoint and when he finally retires - ‘I want him’. We left your home knowing the decision to come to you was perfect and Olly would be coming home with us soon. You kept us informed of his progress and answered all my emails promptly. When we collected him, as before relaxed no pushy ‘You’ve Paid – He’s yours.. Bye’ you took your time, the kitten package was more than expected, I wish I hadn’t bought the toy selection etc we did.. Olly didn’t know where to look. When we finally got him home, he settled within minutes. I don’t know if he had seen stairs before but they became his play ground. I wasn’t expecting a ‘Lap’ cat but again you've clearly spend the time with each kitten he was ‘Head butting’ all – A very happy, confident kitten. At night we now have a new edition… He doesn’t sleep at the end of the bed.. Nope.. He wants to be in the duvet… Head on pillow.. And he is developing the ‘Head Wash’ his dad does…. Finally if anyone is considering buying a kitten from Sitting Pretty, you will not be disappointed. I wish all breeders followed your standards. We wish you all the best, I will keep you up dated, and If I ever want another kitten, you will be my first call. "

Sittingpretty Stanley by Ron Fairbrother of Norfolk, UK

Sittingpretty Stanley

"After losing my Bengal Charlie, I started an immediate search for a replacement to ease the pain and start a new life with another feline chum. I researched a great many breeder sites dealing with Bengal and Savannah cats and contacted quite a few regarding available kittens but found very mixed responses. Some seemed over-keen, (if that makes any sense), and some were pretty indifferent, which put my back up straight away. Others showed their cats like they were for sale on a supermarket shelf. When I came across Rachel's site I was immediately struck by how fit and happy the kittens looked, and the environment looked clean and homely too, so I got in touch. The responses to my emails were not only swift and informative, but were warm and comforting, clearly showing a loyalty to her cats and deep concern for their placement. I also checked out the Sitting Pretty Facebook page, which only gave me more confidence in Rachel and her cats. Stanley was available so there was no doubt who I was going to have. My confidence in Rachel was that high that I paid the asking price the next day without seeing Stanley beforehand, and that belief was well placed as every necessary action and more were carried out by Rachel, including the delivery service. When the wee man arrived he was in perfect condition and within 24 hours was eating from my hand with the confidence of a well brought up kitten. To this day he has had no accidents in the toilet department, using his litter from opening the cat carrier. It was obvious from seeing him that he was well loved and well trained too. As promised all vaccinations were done, along with micro-chip, worming and flea treatments, and the paperwork regarding his bloodline was extensive. And the wee blue cat carrier was a cool addition. Within 48 hours he was pretty much all over the house, and within 72 hours was using the cat flap to the conservatory. As he continues to grow, and eat me out of house and home, his personality is coming more to the fore, and what a great personality it is too. He spends a lot of time up on my shoulders and is quite happy curled up on my chest sleeping. Sure he has manic moments but he is a cat with no mental scarring and is afraid of nothing. He is even extremely sociable with visiting friends and will even sit on my neighbours shoulders, when other cats would be well wary. Rachel is keen to keep in touch with her customers and often inquires after Mr Stan, again, another sign that she cares about her breeds and that this is more than just a business to her. Hopefully I shouldn't have the need to search for another cat for quite some time now, however, if the worst should happen, then I am confident there is only one place I would go, straight back to Rachel. So many thanks for a pain free and very friendly experience, I am certainly reaping the rewards of choosing Stan.

Sittingpretty Smokey Robinson aka Crusoe by Helen Allen of Bingley, UK

Sittingpretty Smokey Robinson

"I really want to say what an amazing job you have done with Crusoe. We didn’t get him as a young kitten and it was you that devoted the time to play and socialise him. Crusoe is a lovely natured boy with a quiet disposition. He regularly walks into the room with his favourite toy for you to play with him. He still steals food and empties the contents of the bin."

Sittingpretty Wham aka Archie by Danielle Hardy of Sunderland, UK

Sittingpretty Wham

"Archie is doing really well and he settled in straight away, he's a clever cat and follows us everywhere. He is full of energy when he's awake and gets in every little place in the house. He has learnt how to open doors and climb up 8ft high curtains. He's also suddenly found a love of ripping up toilet paper which gets everywhere and looks at you innocently! He always falls asleep on the both of our laps and is so loveable."

Sittingpretty Walter The Softie aka Artie by Amy Melrose and Jacqueline Emmott of Leeds, UK

Sittingpretty Walter The SoftieComment 2:

"Artie has been a constant bundle of joy since he arrived. He is still obsessed with water and climbing. Just recently he has noticed the light fitting in the lounge and he keeps eyeing it up, I'm giving him a couple of days till he builds up his courage to launch himself, I certainly won't be surprised to find him perched up there one day when we arrive home from work."

Comment 1:

"Artie has settled right in, he has such a wonderful personality. He is very vocal and extremely loving. He licks everybody to death who comes in the house. He has absolutely no fear of anything; he loves to climb and to splash the water in the sink whilst we have a wash :-). He has re-invigorated our 3 year old Bengal boy Pepe who has gone from spending lazy days on sofa to bounding about the house after Artie. It really is a pleasure to watch them having so much fun. We can't wait to get Artie measured up for his walking jacket and take them both out for energetic adventures. We couldn't have asked for a better addition to the family. We would also like to say a huge thank you for the whole experience, from start to finish, you were extremely flexible about us visiting in an evening and allowing us plenty of time at your house despite the fact that you had been at work all day yourself. You also kept us regularly updated on Artie's health checks and vaccinations and sent us photos of his development. We really couldn't have asked for anymore. Thank you."

Sittingpretty Venus Williams

Comment 2:

"Nala has settled in well. She is so lovely and cuddly and is now best friends with Roger, one of our other cats. She is very human oriented and follows my family all over the house. She also likes to lick your nose and is always purring. You can see the Serval genes in her by the way she moves and plays with her toys. Also her ears and face and long limbs are very serval like even the way she meows is too. Every visitor we have she greets and makes a fuss. If she can, she likes to sleep with us or Roger. She is also very smart and as Roger can open doors, she has watched him and tries to mimic him. She isn't big enough to open the door yet but I am still shocked she learnt that so fast. Thanks very much for her she is gorgeous."

Comment 1:

"Nala is doing great, she is so cuddly. My family love her And she is now best friends with Roger. They cuddle up and Roger grooms her and she purrs her head off. She also likes watching birds from the window with Roger and chirps. She always follows someone around the house as Roger and Mia do. And she never stops purring, she purrs more then she is quiet. She is a top quality SBT savannah. I don't think there are many other breeders breeding savannahs of this quality in this country. Some breeders savannahs just look like bengals."

Sittingpretty Jack Black (Sv) and Sittingpretty Roly Poly (Bg) by John Scott of Derbyshire, UK

Sittingpretty Jack Black and Sittingpretty Roly Poly

Comment 6:

"Jack and Mr fussy pusskins are becoming really settled. I begin work on their outdoor enclosure next week. Roly is pining to go outside, I can tell. Their huge indoor climbing frame comes next week. They enjoy fresh fish and mince meat with a few biscuits to clean their teeth most days. There will never be more spoilt cats! We play for hours now every day. Thank you, they are the most purrfect cats!"

Comment 5:

"The boys are wonderful! Jack has finally let me stroke him now, every so often and he looks and acts far less stressed. He's not hiding anymore, always wants to play and constantly follows me about the house. Louis has settled very quickly. He loves to wake us up every morning with his kisses and claws! He is so affectionate! They are both special cats."

Comment 4:

"Wow, what a difference a day makes! Both boys won't stop following me around today. They seem so much more settled. Play, sleep, play, sleep etc shall be the agenda today I think. My mum came around today with a little cooked white fish for them...I think I might have found Jack's favorite. He went crazy for it! They've also found the cabin bed. I think its their bed now! The love the height and the ladder up to it!"

Comment 3:

"I am over the moon with them. I've literally looked at thousands of different cats on the internet. These are the only two that caught my eye. I don't know, call it intuition but I'm sure we are meant to be together. This is definitely their forever home."

Comment 2:

"I was woken up by Louis at about 6 am with a big wet nose! They came out of their shell late last night and had a good explore. They have both eaten some food. Its nearly end of day one...Jack has spent about three hours playing with his toy. He's amazing how fast and agile he is! Louis has shown how affectionate he is! He has been rolling over, laying on his back and loving his chest being tickled with his powerful purr."

Comment 1:

"The boys are home safe. No meowing on the way home amazingly! They are together looking at me from under a big chair, not quite sure what to make of things! They're so beautiful, thank you."

Sittingpretty LapisComment 2:

"Our bengal has waited five years to have a cat to play with!!! Our other cat (the elderly one) doesn't play and our bengal used to jump on him and no fun could be had!!! Until Tommy came along and now its fun everyday!"

Comment 1:

"Nearly seven weeks since Tommy moved in with us and my words are he is a dream! And makes each day a joy. He’s used his litter tray from day one no accidents. Tommy plays with our Bengal cat, rough and tumble. And he also respects our other cats space who is an elderly cat, only now and then trying to play with him. The dog is funny as at present as he is in fear of Tommy which has calmed the dog greatly. And he has been demonstrating that Tommy’s the boss and if in doubt the dog gets a swipe across the face. Each day we laugh and are so entertained by him, it’s cute how he rubs noses with you. He has a soft leather mouse and adores to play fetch and at night when told bed time, he runs down the corridor to his room promptly. We couldn't’t have asked for a more fab cat."

Comment 4:

"Both boys are doing brilliantly and are now firm fixtures and part of the furniture. They are very similar in some ways and completely different in others. Jackson is overtly confident and a big strutter, Manu is more quietly confident but actually much braver - it is Manu that sees off the wandering neighbourhood cats from the garden by snarling and yowling at them (Jackson always runs back inside the house from the (relative) safety of the enclosure). Both boys are TOTAL lap cats (and both are computer addicts). Both totally love catnip and both love their raw meat. They love nothing more than alternating between mad bursts of chasing/running up their trees and sleeping in the warm windowsill or sitting on top of the tree in the conservatory threatening birds/passers by. Hope all is well - I keep looking at your site and having to resist the urge to go for another Savannah or a Bengal."

Comment 3:

"Both have settled in brilliantly. When they arrived Jackson was the more bold of the two - but now Manu seems to have become a very 'gallous' lad. Jackson is totally a 'lap cat', he loves nothing more than snuggling in on your lap. He has also turned into a wee podge - I leave biscuits down all day for them all to graze on and give them a bowl of wet food/chicken/fish twice a day each - but while all of the other cats will eat a bit and leave and come back to it later - poor wee Jackson seems to think its his duty to try to eat ALL of the food left in all of the plates. Manu has learned that if he jumps up on the bin lid - it will open (its a touch open bin) and has taken to appearing with an empty food tin and dropping it at my feet, if he feels his dinner is late! He loves sleeping sprawled on top of the heater in the kitchen. Jackson is best pals with my grey boy Mainey and Manu is best pals with my brown girl. Both boys have discovered the joys of the fire and sleep on their own wee cushions in front of it whether its on or not. Jackson loves watching tv and is always interested if there are animals or birds on it - and tries to catch them. They both go nuts over the "da bird toy. Manu has one corner for his "kills' and Jackson has commandeered the other corner for his - they are hilarious marching off with things twice their own size. Manu tends to take his smaller toys and stash them into the food bowls (clever wee boy! lol). I let them outside for the first time last week (we have a big enclosure built onto the back of our house for the Maineys with climbing poles and different platforms etc so they can get out but stay safe) - and they LOVED it. They adore rocketing up the poles and jumping onto the platforms and now just come in and out as they please with the other cats. A stray cat that comes to nosey here sometimes appeared - and Manu was like a gundog and I don't know what he said to it (very loudly) but it ran for the hills. They are totally attached to each other and love to curl up together and still 'sook' each other (they tried this on my Mainey boy - who is also a big sook but he took um bridge to them trying to sook him and they haven't tried since). They call for each other if they don't know where the other is - and they always come running from where ever they are and meet in the middle - its really cute - but I think they would have been totally lost without each other. Both cats have the most beautiful glossy, shiny, soft fur and really are stunning cats. Its funny how both look so different to each other - but are the same in mannerisms."

Comment 2:

"Jackson and Manu are settling in nicely. They are best pals with our big grey Maine Coon boy Rowley and they all happily chase 'da bird' together. Rowley doesn't even mind when they mistime their jumps and land on him with their claws out. Coco our mainey girl was a bit phased at first because they move so fast and would hiss at them if they loomed up beside her - but even she stops to sniff them on the way past now - and all four happily eat in a row now. Both of them are happily drinking from both water fountains and they are both happily using all of the litter boxes (and have no problem finding them when they need them). All of the cats slept happily in the same room last night with no problems. The Maineys have their own comfy places and Jackson and Manu like to sleep cuddling each other (and me lol - apparently the closer to my face the better and i keep waking up to find them under my chin!). I can't get over how turbo charged these kittens are or how affectionate. They are both very 'licky' and absolute purr monsters. They are into everything. I caught Manu dragging one of my coats along the floor (it has a faux fur hood) - I could not get over the 'gallous' of him given the coat is so much bigger and heavier than him. He has now laid claim to two kickeroos and a furry cat draught excluder (he has claimed a corner as his 'lair' where he keeps things he has decided are 'his'). Jackson is already getting the hang of getting drawers open to get things. Jackson has also found a favourite spot and claimed his own chair in the conservatory. He tried to climb the glass in the window to get a big spider on a web outside and was most annoyed not to have caught it. I then caught him trying to pinch a snowball cake from the packet (think he might have a wee sweet tooth) - they certainly keep you on your toes! They seem to be settling into a wee routine and either sleep on the video/sky player/ in the conservatory or on the cat tree for spells during the day. They are like rockets when they hear any kind of food though!"

Comment 1:

"Both boys arrived safely. They have exerted their authority as soon as they came in the door. Both came straight out of their carrier and explored the living room. They are both one hundred percent fearless and are strutting around like they have always owned the place. They are happily eating and drinking and using their litter box. They are also fearless rocketing up our cat tree to the top and climbing quite happily up onto the sideboard (i can't get over the SPEED of these cats!). Both are beautiful boys and the voices that come out of them are amazingly loud. They expressed their disapproval about the bumpy Skye roads very vocally apparently! ;0) I can tell we are all going to have our wits about us with these lads ;0). Although Jackson is very bold, i don't think Manu is actually shy at all! He has laid claim to my mainey boys kong kickeroo toy and keeps dragging it into his carrier and snarling at Jackson if he even looks at it). Thank you so much for allowing these boys to travel all the way up here! I don't think stornoway (or us) knows what its in for."

Sittingpretty Ruby Sky aka Suki by Adam Blake

Sittingpretty Ruby Sky

Comment 2:

"Suki is growing quite fast and is a big girl already. She is into everything and loves sitting on the edge of the bath or sink watching it intently then dabbing her front paws into the bubbles fishing for toes. She has managed to get me a couple of times. She has a fascination for ear buds and will run off with one in her mouth every chance she gets. Though she likes her time with Jen in the evenings as a lap cat as well."

Comment 1:

"Suki has settled in real well and with all my years with cats I have never seen one so fast, she is like greased lightning..... She also has developed a destructive passion for our vertical blinds, but hey ho cats more important than that. All my family have seen her and think that she's so cute. When we come in from work she comes straight up to us meowing and leg rubbing and when we sit down if she's tired she comes and sits on our laps. If not she's like an elastic band around the rooms pinging backwards and forwards or using my legs and a launch or landing area with claws."

Sittingpretty Slim Shady by Neil French of Fife, Scotland

Sittingpretty Slim Shady

"Shady has settled in to his new home pretty quickly and is now very much part of the family. He's putting on weight steadily, and turning into a beautiful cat. He has become very attached to Frodo, our 11-month old Bengal and Frodo seems equally fond of his little brother. They spend a lot of time together, playing, play-fighting, watching the birds on the feeder outside their enclosure, and sleeping. Our middle-aged English Shorthair, Munchkin, finds them both a bit boisterous (a bit like an elderly dowager aunt saddled with a couple of five-year-olds, I guess); but they all get on OK."

Sittingpretty My Fair Lady and Sittingpretty Minnie The Minx

Comment 9:

"Mkango and Kambuku are really getting along well now, which is amazing! Yesterday I came back from a drinks party to find them curled up next to each other on the sofa - they almost looked as though they'd been caught out! Last night they both slept curled up next to each other on our bed (I was the little one on the edge, pushed out and duvet-deprived...!), which was great to see. Mkango has been grooming Kambuku very nicely, and there are only very occasional fights - mostly they seem quite happy together. They're not quite at the stage of playing together yet, but I think that will come. Kambuku is certainly a bold food thief - she grabs lumps of cream cheese from my breakfast bagel, and makes off with them, and since I've been having a tiny bit of smoked salmon on top, she's been going mad! I end up having to hold my food high in the air while trying to remove her from my lap! I can't believe how quickly they've settled, and I feel really lucky that they get on OK. They do share several antecedents, so perhaps that's why - whatever the reason, it's worked really well, which is a relief."

Comment 8:

"The girls are doing very well, there is still some fighting for supremacy, but on the whole they get on happily together. They spend most nights curled up together or separately on our bed - great for them, less so for me...! Mkango spends quite a lot of time grooming Kambuku - I think sometimes she is inadvertently a little rough, and that can lead to hissing, but usually she is very gentle, and has been very patient. Kambuku seems well settled - Liam now calls her 'Dyson' as she hoovers up anything in sight that is still for long enough!"

Comment 7:

"Mkango is going from strength to strength, still growing, still loving her walks, and still chasing her tail and her favourite mouse around the house like a mad thing. Even though she has two walks a day, I think they are less enjoyable for her now it is dark and cold in the mornings and evenings - she really loves going out in the middle of the day."

Comment 6:

"Mkango is indeed a little monkey...! She has learned to pull open the kitchen drawer where the harness and leads are kept, and pull out the harness... I shall have to train her to bring me the harness, at the moment she just sits looking pathetic and begging me for a walk!"

Comment 5:

"Mkango is recovering well from her spaying operation. She removed her stitches within 12 hours of the op and had to go back for staples, but was very good after that! She's still enjoying her walks, and stalking flies and other unfortunate insects who get into her sight line. At least I won't need any fly traps this summer!"

Comment 4:

"I'm keeping her on the lead and we've enjoyed some little walks locally. I get some pretty odd looks, but that doesn't bother me too much... Yesterday I took her up to the College while I waited for my husband to finish work and the list of admirers increased by the hundred - all the kids wanted a stroke, and she did very well!"

Comment 3:

"Mkango continues to grow and to thrive and so far there is little damage to the house(!). She is definitely the most beautiful cat in the world, with an army of fans both here and in Durham - we no longer have visitors, they come to see Mkango! She is very keen to go outside. If she does manage a bid for freedom she tends to run off with no concept of danger - yesterday she fell in our neighbours' pond!"

Comment 2:

"Mkango is still doing really well. She seems happy and settled, and certainly enjoyed Christmas, being the centre of attention with the two of us and my mother-in-law, lots of playing, and lots of cuddles! She was very good around the tree, and especially enjoyed the decorations I hung on her bed."

Comment 1:

"Mkango cried all the way from Bradford to York, where we stopped at Pets at Home to pick up her food. She was of course adored all the way around the shop, so that cheered her up! When we arrived home she did spend some time hiding under the TV stand and the sofa, but eventually was coaxed out by some cooked fish and enjoyed lots of playing and cuddles. We even managed to trim her nails a little. She spent last night in our bed (!) but although I don't want her to get into the habit of sleeping in or on beds, I realise that she's used to sleeping with her brother and mum, so it'll take her a bit of time to get to sleep on her own. Amazingly, no accidents, which is a relief! - although she did wake up for more food and a play at 2.18am... This morning she seems to be a little more settled, she's worked out where her food and litter tray are, and is currently asleep on my neck as I work. I think she'll probably settle pretty quickly, if we can keep her calm. Thanks again!"

Sittingpretty Cassidy aka Cassie and Sittingpretty Short 'n' Sweet aka Shortie by Jennifer Pittman of Bradford On Avon, UK

Sittingpretty Cassidy and Sittingpretty Short N Sweet

Comment 4:

"Both Cassie and Shortie were really good with the Christmas tree - we had a fake one, so I don't think they realised that it might have been possible to climb it. I tried to put all of the baubles out of reach, but they still managed to get a couple off and had great fun batting them around the living room floor. They've also really enjoyed all of the wrapping paper and boxes. We have a large box in our dining room that is now their favourite place to sit - it raises them up so they can sit directly next to the radiator and they can invariably be found either there or sitting on the warm stair. In fact, Cassie is asleep on the box and Shortie on the stairs right now. Cassie still sits on my shoulders while I'm cooking or walking around the house (in fact, she has come in and is trying to help write this email). She likes to sleep at the foot of the bed under the covers and Ashley complains that she take up all of the space where his feet normally go. She does manage to take up a surprisingly large amount of space for a cat of her size - I think they must both be made of elastic as they can be so tall when they want to. I don't think she can take up any more of Ashley's space than he takes of mine anyway! We left some beef defrosting on the side in the kitchen before Christmas. We made the mistake of going out and came back to discover that the cats had managed to drag it down from the side, up a step, across the dining room and into the TV room where they were attempting to break into the plastic bag! Fortunately I think we got them fairly early into their attempts to get into it, so they hadn't really managed to get their teeth into it. We were quite impressed though, as the joint weighed four pounds! Luckily for us the dining room floor is wooden, so it was easy to mop up the trail of blood and we weren't left with a stained carpet to have to explain the people. I was up in the loft recently and Cassie followed me up the loft ladder to see what I was doing. She had quite a good time padding about on the insulation and it was with great difficulty that I got her out. I can tell you that attempting to carry a reluctant cat down a loft ladder is not easy! Now we have to shut her in another room when we want to go in the loft as other wise she will run up the ladder to get in there. If she's on your shoulder she'll try and jump up if the hatch is open, even if the ladder isn't there and even when the hatch is shut, she'll still try to get up high enough to have a good sniff around it. Both of them still like to get onto the roll out bed under the spare bed. I have no idea how they fit under there as the gap is only about 3 inches tall, but they seem to manage. I can't even fit my arm into the gap, so the only way to get them out if we need to is to move the bed out, or feed them of course!"

Comment 3:

"We are still loving having them and getting to know them. Shortie is fascinated by water and will always come and see what is happening when one of us has a bath or a shower. Bubbles in the bath seem to particularly confuse her as she cannot work out if she can stand on them or not. She's still rather tentative though, so hasn't fallen in the bath at least! She's also decided that she much prefers running water to the water in their bowl and has us well trained to turn the tap on for her to drink from whenever we go near one. I think they will be getting a drinking fountain for Christmas! Cassie has realised that when we pick her up she can climb up on to our shoulders to get even closer to us, and an even better view of whatever we're doing. Her balance up there is pretty good so I can now walk round the house and get on with whatever I'm doing with her sitting or lying across my shoulders. Pretty much ever day when I get home from work she likes to come and sit on my shoulders and just purr - I don't think even Ashley is as happy as she is to see me when I get home! They have been sleeping in our bed recently and when the weather is cold they like to climb under the covers with us. Cassie in particular likes to curl up at the bottom of the bed and lick our feet, which can be a bit surprising in the middle of the night! Ashley also complains that sometimes she tickles his feet with her tail! They have been to meet the vet, who was completely enamored with them, just like everyone who meets them is. Ashley said they were utterly un phased by the waiting room full of other cats and dogs. They've also been really good at having their flea/worming treatments. I am constantly astounded that the things most cat owners seem to find such a trial are so easy with these two. We absolutely love having them and regularly tell each other how happy we are with them, they are just so much more friendly than other people's cats seem to be! Thank you again for letting us have such wonderful cats."

Comment 2:

"We are absolutely besotted with them and it's hard to believe they have only been here just over a week! They've settled in well and already found several hiding/napping places. They love to sit on the window sills and look out at the garden, especially when our two rabbits are in their run outside. They've even found the window sill that gets the sun all day and curl up there for naps in the afternoon. They both like to go on top of the wardrobe in our hall and I have come in from work on several days to find two inquisitive little faces peering down at me. Shortie disappeared for two hours on Saturday evening and we were starting to worry that she had shut herself in a cupboard or something when she sauntered out from behind a pile of boxes up there. We'd checked at the font of it but hadn't realised she could fit in behind them! Cassie's new favourite spot is on the chairs under the dining table, so we now have to be very careful when we go to sit down! They're always looking for new places to explore and will attempt to rush into any cupboard as soon as I open it. We have a large cupboard in our TV room and they have both managed to climb the shelves of it and then get onto the top of the door, which is a comical sight when you walk into the room. They've also made it up onto the shelf in the kitchen and from there to the top of the fridge. Today I walked into the hall to find Cassie standing on her hind legs on the shelf next to the front door and leaning across to put her front paws on the window at the top of the door so she could see out of it. Alas, as soon as I walked in she leapt down so she could run over and rub against me. They regularly follow us round the house, which can make life difficult when we are trying to go out but we love how they will start purring just because they see you come into the room. I'm often greeted in the morning when I open the bedroom door by two waiting cats who cannot wait to rub against (and get breakfast I'm sure!) They've met both our families and were so well-behaved with large numbers of new people around I was just astounded. I was expecting one or both of them to be overwhelmed and go and hide somewhere but they both just wanted to meet all the new people who were there to make a fuss of them! Ashley's parents and my sister both own cats and both commented on how much friendlier and less temperamental our two were than their ones. Shortie often comes to sit with me when I'm watching TV and will curl up on my lap and fall asleep. In fact, she will attempt to get a cuddle just about anywhere and always comes to walk all over my work when I'm sitting at my bureau (and to chew on my pencil!). She is such a pleasant distraction that it makes it hard to put her down."

Comment 1:

"We got Cassie and Shortie home without any problems last night, they were good as gold in the car! We got lots of cuddles and licks last night and they both fell asleep on Ashley's lap. They seem to have settled in really quickly. Cassie has already decided she wants to explore the rest of the house and keeps trying to follow us every time we leave the room they're in."

Sittingpretty Ginger Roger aka Marley (Sv) and Sittingpretty Alfie (Bg) by Gary Holden of Blackburn, UK

Sittingpretty Ginger Roger and Sittingpretty Alfie

Comment 4:

"They are both still a lot of fun and I have trained them both to play fetch which Marley really enjoys. Even though Alfie looks so angelic he gets into so much mischief, such as ripping up toilet rolls, emptying the bin and racing up trees when he is on a lead in the garden. Everyone who visits the house wants to take Alfie home because he's so friendly and beautiful, Marley is quite shy with visitors but very loving to everyone else."

Comment 3:

"They are both doing well and have grown alot. They are still the best of friends and play together all day then snuggle up together to sleep. Marley loves the snakes you sent home with them and he now has a collection of about five. He walks around the house with them in is mouth like a comfort blanket. He loves playing and jumping amazingly high. Then he feeds them by putting their heads in his dry food (thankfully he doesn't give them wet food it would be a bit smelly).Alfie has 2 spiders that are his favourite toys he is also very good at tree climbing when he goes outside on his harness, which can get a bit complicated and tangled. They are both great fun."

Comment 2:

"Marley and Alfie are doing really well and seem to have grown loads, Marley's already outgrown his harness! They both enjoy going out on their harness. Alfie loves to walk around and explore whereas Marley enjoys just chilling in the sun. They are both extremely playful and friendly! They have cuddled with every visitor who has been. Marley has the loudest purr we have ever heard. They both enjoy sitting really high up on their cat tree watching everyone go by. We really enjoy having them both."

Comment 1:

"Alf is now very well marked very much like the Snow leopard on the tv advert. Marley also going under the name Stunt cat, hasn't’t stopped playing yet!

Sittingpretty Miss Martian by Tracey Minshall of Bedfordshire, UK

Sittingpretty Miss Martian

"We are very happy thank you. She is wonderful and starting to get along with our bengal already. When she is running around upstairs and we are in the living room it is hard to believe she can make so much noise! Tushka, our bengal seems happy to have a friend and he has been giving her a good lick. She is quicker and can jump higher than he can so he doesn't get it all his own way when they are playing. We have named her Zola. We look forward to her growing up and getting bigger, she is very affectionate. The two of them meow loudly at one another through the door when we do separate them, I'm sure she will be opening doors as soon as she is big enough. Thanks for all of your help and we will love her to bits for years to come and look after and cherish her."

"Meg's been settling in really well. She meowed a little on the journey, and stayed in her box for a while when we got home, but after that she came out and explored. She's been using her litter tray fine. She's so lively and playful. I have a few scratches on my ankles from where she's tried to climb up my legs, but I forgive her! Thank you for such a lovely kitten!"

"Jimmy is happy and well. The little dog and he are great pals. Jimmy is lots of fun, couldn't have wished for a better kitten."

"Simba is keeping us busy running around after him! Simba loves smelling the flowers and lying in the garden with the sun shining on him purring away! I will send you some updating photo's of Simba soon so you can see how big he has got!"

Comment 1:

"Simba has settled in very well! He had a quiet evening on Saturday till about 10PM and then decided to explore... He was very playful on Sunday and has been back to his usual self and found a bed to hide under when he wants some time to himself. I must say, well done on bringing such a happy little kitten up! I have never known a kitten purr and be so loving. We are both really happy with him. Felt bad leaving him this morning when we went to work but he has made up for the lost time since we have got home... He still hasn't managed to be brave enough to sit on the window sill on his own yet but I am sure he will soon!"

"Ronnie is fine, he still wants to play all the time and has already started to play fetch (with pretty much anything he can get into his mouth). He's also keen on climbing and can pretty much get anywhere in the house. He's managed to work out how to get on top of doors if we leave them open and he's climbed on top of (and fallen off) curtain rails, picture frames and even the air conditioning in the conservatory (which is about 10ft up!!). I think we are going to start taking him outside on a lead soon."

Sittingpretty Bruno Mars

Comment 5:

"Bruno has started peeing in the toilet now. He waits until I want to go so I have to wait until he's finished! He is definitely cheeky and very naughty but he makes me laugh so much. I could never be mad at him! He is so sweet and loving."

Comment 4:

"Bruno is doing very well. He makes me laugh so much! The other cats absolutely adore him. I've never seen them play so much (not that have much choice). He has a habit of waking us up at 4am to play and bite our feet. He has grown so much already! We called him Theo as well and it seems to suit him."

Comment 3:

"Think Bruno lost about three of his lives today! He tried sliding down the banister from the top floor and I only just caught him. Then he jumped on a massive statue, which he knocked over. Then he jumped inside our living room lamp and nearly smashed it! It took me about three hours to get ready today because I can't turn my back on him for a second before he gets into trouble. He is so funny. We love him!"

Comment 2:

"Bruno has had the run of the house all day today for the first time and he loved it. The other cats are absolutely brilliant with him! He's been playing like crazy all day, he's worn himself out now! It's amazing to have a kitten with so much energy, running around. He is such a little character. He has settled in really well and he is having so much fun! We love him to bits."

Comment 1:

"Bruno is settling in fine. He is having a good nosey around and he has had lots to eat. He is adorable. I love him to bits! He wants picking up all the time and loves cuddles in bed. He is very very active and he is destroying the bedroom but I don't mind. He's so cute!"

Sittingpretty Sun Ray aka Ruby by Rita McVinny of Fife, Scotland

Sittingpretty Sun Ray

Comment 7:

"Ruby wanted her other mummy to see the photos she had taken today. Don't worry, that tree isn't very high at all and I was right beside her. She now loves being outside and runs to the door when the dogs go out. I'll have to watch her carefully. She meows very loudly when she's out and is quite excited. So far, she has got out but just looks around and when I go up to her she just stays with me. She's very much mummy's girl. Her favourite thing these days is the dish washer. When I've emptied it she uses it to climb onto the work top then onto the window sill where she can watch the birds."

Comment 6:

"Ruby is doing well and is very happy and so loving. She doesn't like it when a stranger comes in, but if they ignore her, she'll be up on their shoulders in a few minutes. She's very purry and is eating really well. She's recently been introduced to a few apple trees in the garden and seems to be enjoying that."

Comment 5:

"It was lovely and sunny this morning, so we all went out to the garden. Holly likes to wash Ruby if they're outside...not sure why. There are so many birds in the garden so it's very exciting for Ruby. I let her follow me right around it today so that was the first she'd seen a lot of it. She had the little harness and lead on but I didn't bother holding it. It was just there, just in case."

Comment 4:

"Ruby is doing well. She is eating a lot more and I can feel she is a bit more robust, although she'll always be elegant. She's discovered that wagging tails are much more fun to attack then my hair! She staring to try and play with the dogs, which is quite funny! She's a little furry purry bundle of love!"

Comment 3:

"I took her out to my secret garden for a while the other day, just with a dog lead and she was so fascinated by everything. Whenever there was a slight breeze and a leaf would move, she'd pounce on it. She was also very interested in my little pond. It does have 3 fish in it. Now I think she'd like to get out more. There have been a few people in to meet the celebrity and she's been fine with them. I tell them to just sit and ignore her and she soon goes to them and climbs on their shoulder. She's totally fine with the dogs and she walks round the house with them and they all sleep in or on my bed. I'm getting no peace on here just now and she usually perches on my shoulder when I'm at the PC."

Comment 2:

"She's very settled and happy and really not a 'bad girl' at all. She has her 'mad moments' but she's a baby, so it's only normal. Mostly she's happy just to have cuddles. She's just what I wanted!"

Comment 1:

"She's totally fine. She walks about with the dogs and is getting used to them. She now knows they won't harm her. I now share my bed with the 3 of them,...and we're all happy. She loves being cuddled in, under the duvet. She's made her bed on the radiator. She can watch me from there, so I put her little velvet and fur cover on it. She loves the cat tree or under my chin. She's really good, uses her litter tray, all the time. I'll get one of those little jacket harnesses so she can be out in the garden with me and the dogs. She can have a little extending lead and climb the apple trees. She's playing under my desk just now. All the toys she has and a chestnut takes her fancy!"

Sittingpretty Sad Sam by Chatterie Moonwalk of France

Sittingpretty Sad Sam

The following was taken and translated directly from French into English from Chatterie Moonwalk. We are proud to say that in selling and exporting Sad Sam to them, we helped them to set up their breeding program, providing them with their first ever F6 SBT stud.

"Sam is our young F6 SBT male. He is the the most friendly cat we have ever had of all the races of cats we have had. He is absolutely wonderful. The children can do anything they want with him, other domestic animals, friends too. He is always happy. He comes on holiday with us, he comes for walks with us in the garden, plays on the trampoline and by the swimming pool.... If he transmits his character to his babies we will have successfully reached an important stage in the improvement of the Savannah race."

Flo (retired queen) by Ashley Nettleton of Uxbridge, UK

Saltrock Sunflower Of Sittingpretty"I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and advice. Flo is the most amazing cat, we all love her very much already. She loves me and rubs herself all over my lap every time I feed her she's just so lovely and although still a little unsure of us at times I think she's adjusting very well to family life. She slept on my other half's legs all night think we are growing on her. Anyway just wanted to say I would highly recommend you as a breeder and we are absolutely over the moon with the help, service and our little love bug."

"Vasha has bonded with my other cat Sooty well and he loves to groom her. Vasha is such a loving cat and sleeps in my daughters bed every night and gets up with her when she has school. She even has to sit next to us when we are in the bath or using the toilet. She eats well and has gained some weight in the time we have had her."

Maddie (retired queen) by Rob and Jean Willis of Roxburghshire.

Sittingpretty Cats Ex breeding savannah queen

"Maddie has settled in really well, we are delighted with her. She has quickly adopted a routine which involves sleeping upstairs at night, the conservatory in the morning watching the different types of wildlife in our garden and sleeping by the log fire in the afternoon. Interspersed with all this is some vigorous playing with her new toys. She has some sticks with feathers on the end as she leaps to great heights to catch and will run off and hide them behind the sofa. She is eating well and has not been the slightest bit of bother. We are most grateful to you for selling her to us and thanks very much for the food and toy that you gave us."
